List of Large Commercial-Industrial and Tax-Exempt Users
 
 

The Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago's (District) User Charge Ordinance (Ordinance), Section 2, currently defines Large Commercial-Industrial (LCI) Users as:

"Any nongovernmental User engaged in commercial or industrial activities which:
(1) discharges any wastes exceeding any of the following: a flow of 25,000 gallons per day; a BOD loading of 25 pounds per day; or a suspended solids loading of 35 pounds per day, or
(2) is designated as a Significant Industrial User."

and Tax-Exempt (TXE) users as:

"A User who pays no ad valorem taxes, or receives substantial credits in paying such taxes, including but not limited to: Users exempt from ad valorem taxes; all federal, state, and local units of government; but excluding Local Government Users as defined [in Section 2 of the Ordinance]."

Based on their classification status, LCI and TXE Users are required to submit a User Charge Annual Certified Statement (RD-925) each year and are also required to submit a User Charge Certified Sampling Analysis Reporting Statement (RD-920) each year as established in the Ordinance.

The District has identified 619 LCI Users and 2936 TXE Users under its jurisdiction. The following list is current as of May 23, 2019.
