The mission of the Engineering Department is to:

• plan, develop, and implement a Capital Improvement Program that meets the District's statutory responsibilities in the areas of Sewage Treatment and Pollution Control;

• regulate the construction and maintenance of local sewers which are tributary to the District's intercepting sewer system;

• protect the safety of the county's residents and mitigate flood damage by coordinating, planning, implementing, and financing and operating regional stormwater management projects;

• foster improvements in water quality within the watershed;

• educate the public with respect to sustainable growth concepts in the area of stormwater management
