The Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago (District) has completed
Detailed Watershed Plans (DWPs) for
Calumet Sag
Channel Watershed,
Little Calumet River Watershed,
and
Upper Salt Creek Watershed. As part of the DWPs, the
District developed hydrologic and hydraulic models to facilitate the
development of regional flood control projects and to ensure that the
potential projects do not cause adverse impacts elsewhere in the watershed.
The output from the models was used to create inundation maps, which
delineate areas where flooding is expected to occur during a 100 year (1%)
rainfall event. Below are links to the inundation maps and profiles
generated in the DWPs.
